THANKYOU FOR PURCHASING THE AMOSZINE SUPPLEMENT DISK #3
=======================================================
COMPILER STEVE BYE
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The idea behind these supplement disks is to allow us enough room to give you
the programs we talk about in the mag. A good example is the JD extension,
it is over 270k in size and that's archived. If we had put that on Amoszine
you wouldn't of got much in the way of articles and source. AZ's policy is
QUALITY AND QUANTITY
As you would expect from Amoszine, everything is crunched as much as
possible giving you good value and something to tinker with in the long
weeks between AZ issues. Another use of the Supplement disks is to allow
readers space for their product demos (or full versions) so if you want to
see your program on a future AZ Supp disk then send it to me now.
If your demo is more than 450k archived with lha then we may not be able to
use it, sorry. But I will put it in the F1 PD library for you.
All Amoszine supplement disks can ONLY be obtained direct from me at the
address given at the end of this file. The cost per disk is £1.50.
This compilation is (C) Amoszine 1994 as some or all of the contents are
on this disk only by express permission of the author rendering this disk
most defiently NOT PD.
------
CONTENTS: A complete 99% full disk of source.
Image Compressor, a real nice amos util.
A fantastic collection of Amos programming tools
20 Amos/Workbench fonts to make your progs prettier
8 Amos ABK music modules
9 screens of graphics for use in your programs
DISK 99% FULL.
F1 SOURCE ISSUE 0
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Basically (No pun intended) F1 source disks are --err disks
of source code from F1 Licenceware. The difference here is all F1 Source
disks are 99% full of pure source code, no libs/devs/c/ command etc.
Also most of the source was (at the time of compilation) previously
unseen. The whole 800k+ archived down to just over 300k. Have fun with
this great collection of source. Issues 1,2,3 and 4 are available for
a special £1.50 to AZ readers from the address below.
(Archived with LHA, use GUI-ARC or similar to decrunch.)
IMAGE COMPRESSOR
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Reviewed in AZ #3 by yours truely, and got a whopping 95%, it deserves
it as well! Written by AZ utils editor, Andrew Smith this is the first
PD release version of IC. It's a cool looking, useful and easy to use
util for crunching/uncruching and viewing picture files. I won't go
into depth explaining what it does here as the docs provided with IC do
that. The original doc is in AmigaGuide format but to save a lot of
disk space I have just cruched it as an ASCII file, hope you dont mind
Andrew?
(Crunched with Power Packer, just double click to run it.)
AMOS TOOLS
^^^^^^^^^^
Recently I needed to convert aBob bank to anIcon bank quickly, I knew
I had a util to do it in my collection somewhere so I started looking.
Two hourslater I found it. Whilst searching through my Hard drive and
assorted floopies I noticed quite a few "tools" and decided to keep
them all in one place. The upshot is the collection you will find in
this archive. There are 30 wicked programs in the archive, in source
form, so I won't list them all, but here are a few to make you drool:
MAKEZONE,ANIMATOR V3, REM MAKER, FLOWCHART CREATOR, LEVEL EDITOR,
MAP DEFINER, BOB TO IFF, SPRITEMAKER, HOTSPOT50, ICON UTIL, SINE WAVE
CREATOR etc. etc.
(Archived with LHA, use GUI-ARC or similar to decrunch.)
AMOS/WB FONTS
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Not many people bother to use the workbench fonts in Amos, mainly due
to a few bugs in Amos (Ie. reading in the wrong font on different
machines) but some WB fonts look really good and don't use much disk
space or memory. I have included 20 of my favourite fonts on this
disk. De-archive the file FONTS.lha and copy the fonts to your boot
copy of amos or your boot partition on your HD. You can also use these
fonts in Dpaint and similar, great for creating logos and title
screens.
P.S In issue #2 of AZ Andrew Campbell gives aroutine to fix the font
bug in Amos oringinal. AmosPro makes using fonts a lot easier.
(Archived with LHA, use GUI-ARC or similar to decrunch.)
MALCOLM LAVERY GRAPHICS
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Nine screens are in this archive, you have malcolm's permission to use
these graphics in your own productions as long as you credit him.
Better still, send him a copy of your completed game.
(Archived with LHA, use GUI-ARC or similar to decrunch.)
ABK MUSIC MODS
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Not much to tell really, there are eight modules on the disk all
taken from Amos PD disks. Load an ABK mod into a memory bank and
use the MUSIC command to play it. See your Amos manual for more
details if you are not sure.
(Archived with LHA, use GUI-ARC or similar to decrunch.)
**************************************
I hope you find this lot useful, I haven't just chucked anything on this
disk, most or all of it is relevent to Amoszine. If you de-archived all the
files on this disk would fill nearly two disks so I feel you are
getting quality and value for money. If you don't think so let me know how I
can improve these supplement disks.
I have enjoyed compiling this disk and hope to do many more, that's if you
lot want them, let me know. Now go and have some fun.
